✅ How to Use Mounjaro
1.Prescription Only
•Mounjaro must be prescribed by a healthcare provider. Don’t start it without medical guidance.
2.Injection Schedule
•Inject once a week, on the same day each week (e.g., every Monday) (1 pen for single use only)
•You can take it with or without food, and at any time of day.
3.Administration Instructions
•Subcutaneous injection (under the skin) in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm.
•Rotate injection sites weekly to avoid skin irritation.
•Use a new pen for each dose. Do not reuse pens.
4.Starting Dose (as commonly prescribed)
•Typically begins at 2.5 mg once weekly for 4 weeks.
•Then increased gradually (e.g., 5 mg, 7.5 mg, 10 mg, up to 15 mg) based on effectiveness and tolerance.
5.Storage
•Store in the refrigerator (36°F–46°F / 2°C–8°C).
•Can be kept at room temperature (up to 86°F / 30°C) for up to 21 days if needed.
⚠️ Important Notes
•Do not use if:
•You or your family have a history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
•You are pregnant or planning pregnancy (consult your doctor).
•Side Effects May Include:
•Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation
•Reduced appetite
•Fatigue
•Injection site reactions
•Rare: pancreatitis, gallbladder issues
•Monitor: Your doctor may check blood sugar levels and adjust other diabetes medications to avoid hypoglycemia.
